石動山開山の祖・泰澄大師の命日7月7日 石動山で「開山祭」開催

本日、石動山で「開山祭」が開催されます。これは、石動山開山の祖・泰澄大師の命日に行われる伝統行事です。

私にとっては今回が初参加となりますが、氷見の実家に残されていた「石動山来歴」、そして昨年発見された「石動山の蔵購入記録」などから、この地に深い興味を抱くようになりました。

平安・鎌倉時代には霊山として多くの方々が訪れ、戦国時代までは表参道は氷見灘浦側にあり、多くの参拝者で賑わっていたそうです。

今年の3月には、まだ雪が残る中を訪れました。そして本日、初めての開山祭。どのような体験になるのか、また後日ご報告いたします。

石動山（伊須流岐比古神社）

Today marks the Mt. Sekidosan Opening Ceremony, held on the memorial day of Taichō Daishi, the founder of Mt. Sekidosan.

It’s my first time attending, but I’ve become deeply interested through family records left in our home in Himi — including the “History of Sekidosan” and a recently discovered document regarding the purchase of a storehouse on the mountain.

Since the Heian and Kamakura periods, this sacred mountain attracted many pilgrims. Until the Sengoku period, the main pilgrimage route started from the Himi Nadaura side.

I visited this sacred place in March, still covered in snow. And today, I look forward to experiencing this historic festival for the first time. I’ll share more with you soon.
