戦時中の母屋正面の白壁（黒塗り）

「黒く塗られた白壁 ― 空襲に備えた家の記憶」

昭和12年生まれの父は、戦時中に対岸の富山市が空襲で真っ赤に燃える様子を見ていたと語っていました。

人々は空からの爆撃を恐れ、白い漆喰壁を黒く塗って目立たないようにしていたそうです。

そして今回、奇跡的に発見された戦前・戦中の古い写真により、この黒い煤が意図的に塗られていた防空対策だったことが明らかになりました。

その痕跡が、今も屋根の一部に残っています。静かに戦争の記憶を伝える家です。

“The Blackened Wall: A Home’s Silent Memory of War”

My father, born in 1937, once described seeing Toyama City across the bay engulfed in flames during the air raids of WWII in 1945 August.

To avoid becoming targets, people blackened their white plaster walls to blend into the darkness.

Recently, by a miracle, we discovered wartime photos of our home—proving that the black soot was intentionally applied as an air raid precaution.

Traces of that blackened wall still remain on the roof today, telling a quiet story of war and survival.
