A Surprise Visit from Germany in April

海外の旅行サイトでは、高岡までは広く知られているようですが、氷見まではまだまだ多くは掲載されておりません。

　ドイツからのご夫婦（Olaf and Eva）は、日本の有名な観光地ではなく、「undeveloped landscapes and authentic villages」を探して氷見、そして、両親の家へ辿り着いたそうです。母より連絡をもらい、私は上海からLineでお話をしました。母からは日本の家庭料理をおもてなし。その後、WhatsAppでつながり、情報・写真を頂けました。時代の進化ができる交流でした。そして、今回掲載のお許しも頂いています。ありがとうございます。

　Disney+での、真田広之主演「将軍」でも、Keywordとして「Authentic（本物）」が言われています。作られた新しい建物ではなく、歴史を見てきたからこそ様々な意味を持つ日本の古民家・日本庭園、それこそが真に「Authentic」であると思います。

　これからも大事に大切にしていきたいですね。

A Surprise Visit from Germany in April

While Takaoka is fairly well known on international travel websites, Himi has yet to gain much recognition.

This German couple, Olaf and Eva, weren’t looking for Japan’s famous tourist spots. Instead, they were in search of undeveloped landscapes and authentic villages, which led them to Himi—and eventually to my parents’ home.

My mother contacted me, and I spoke with them via LINE from Shanghai. She warmly welcomed them with traditional Japanese cuisine. Later, we connected through WhatsApp, where they kindly shared information and photos with me. It was a heartwarming exchange made possible by today’s technology. We’ve received their gracious permission to share this story—thank you, Olaf and Eva.

In the Disney+ series Shogun starring Hiroyuki Sanada, the keyword “authentic” is often emphasized. It’s not the newly constructed buildings, but the old Japanese houses and gardens—steeped in history and meaning—that truly embody authenticity.

Let’s continue to cherish and protect these cultural treasures for the future.
